2 Guests are left at Acharn to continue their Rob Roy Way walk.
This area is suffused with interesting walks, from level loch side rambles in the glen to the
more strenuous half-day walk up Ben More or the local Munro - Ben Lawers.
We provide an ideal base for exploring the numerous Munros (mountains over 3000ft) within easy reach or maybe you fancy walking some Corbetts (mountains over 2000ft).
Some of the walks around Killin are described in the Killin walks page and Killin Walks Leaflet .
Killin is a good stop on the Rob Roy Way. The leg of the walk that passes us comes from or continues down along the south of Loch Tay. Unfortunately along the south road at Ardtalnaig ( recommended leg of the walk) there is presently no accommodation. At Craigbuie we do offer walkers a pick-up/drop off service from this point linked to a two night stay.
A selection of cycle rides in the area allow you to cycle on and off road. Amongst others, the 214 miles Cycle Route 7. The
runs from Inverness to Glasgow via Pitlochry. At Killin, Cycle Route 7
runs eastwards along the south side of the loch or southward, off-road, along the old railway
track, towards Glen Ogle.
West of Kenmore there is off-road ride with a nice climb up the wooded hillside at the north end of the loch, yielding panoramic views of Loch Tay. If you have the strength you might try riding along the single track road, past the Ben Lawers Visitor Centre and over through to Bridge of Balgie!
Forest, loch, moorland or mountainside whatever your favorite surroundings there is a walk or a cycle track to suit.
If you are touring independently by foot or by bike you may want to consider employing a service to move your luggage from place to place - we have found Bike and Hike reliable. Otherwise you might use a booking service to arrange your itinerary and for this Scottish Cycling Holidays are a worth a visit.
At the Killin Outdoor Centre and Mountain Shop you can hire bicycles and equipment by the hour or day. They will also give you 1st class local advice. The Outdoor Centre also runs some day long and week long training courses.
Alternatively bring your own bicycles and we can store them safely overnight in our locked garage.
