Almost every corner you turn around the Trossachs and Breadalbane area you will encounter
one of those 'Kodak moments'.
Whether you choose to interpret those views on paper,
on canvas, by photograph or just in your mind's eye will depend on your preferred
artistic medium. The views will take your breath away.
Using a palette you might find
that you are challenged when it comes to choosing your colour, there are many artists
who say that the clean, sparkling air adds an extra something to the light and hence
the colours of the scenery. No two days are alike. The weather, whatever its conditions,
does not mar the beauty all around, it just alters it so that the colours stand out
more vividly. Unbelievably blue skies vie with the blues, browns and purples of the
hillsides, sometime the lochs are so still that it is hard to see where reality ends
and reflection begins.....
The area has plenty of interesting walks, from level loch
side rambles in the glen to the more strenuous half-day walk up Ben More or the local
Munro - Ben Lawers.

At the Killin Outdoor Centre and Mountain Shop you can hire bicycles and equipment
by the hour or day. They will also give you 1st class local advice. The Outdoor Centre
also runs some day long and week long training courses.
Alternatively bring your own
bicycles and we can store them safely overnight in our locked garage.
Scotland's Outdoor
Access Code came into being on the 9th February 2005, you can read about it here
Killin is a good stop on the Rob Roy Way (Drymen to Pitlochry). The leg of the walk that passes us comes from or continues down along the south of Loch Tay. Unfortunately along the south road at Ardtalnaig ( recommended leg of the walk) there is presently no accommodation. At Craigbuie we do offer walkers a pick-up/drop off service from this point linked to a two night stay. A selection of cycle rides in the area allow you to cycle on and off road. Amongst others, the 214 miles Cycle Route 7 which runs from Inverness to Glasgow via Pitlochry.
At Killin, Cycle Route 7 runs eastwards along the south side of the loch or southward, off-road, along the old railway track
towards Glen Ogle.
